The fashion industry is especially problematic with their record on sustainability, and we credit Bernardo Fashions for making strides to address some of the more serious issues. Their coat lining are made from recycled plastic, helping to relieve the pressure of plastic waste on the environment. Additionally, they do not use any animal fur or down.

Their Bluesign certification indicates a high level of environmental accountability at all levels of their supply chain. Unfortunately, this certification does not apply to all their products or all of the components within a product. As well, while their supply chain parners are held to a high standard of environmental cleanliness, there is no indication that their foreign suppliers pay their workers a living wage. 

We commend them for the work they have done so far, but they still have a long way to go. we would rate them as an “ethical” partner, and they do far more than most of their competitors in the industry,  but they need to do far more than they currently do before we would enthusiastically endorse them, although they are definitely better than average in their category.
